Punch Drunk

Went to a concert tonight--LA Chamber Orchestra played with Chris Thile of Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, his mandolin concerto. He encored with a Bach gigue and a White Stripes song. (And this is a side note, but it's been said he looks like Robert Pattinson, but that's just saying...) Lots of fun!

They also played Copland--Music for Theater and Appalachian Spring, one of my favorite pieces ever. Listening to it feels so tangible to me--it always feels like drinking cool water. Have I said that before?

I went by myself. Got to hang out in Borders before and read my book. Listened to Prairie Home Companion on the way up (to Glendale) and an LA Theater Works play on the way back. A very sweet evening.
