DB showed his enthusiasm for a watermelon I brought home by rocking it, singing it a lullaby and putting it gently to bed on the kitchen floor on a pillow, covered with a blanket.
PDaniel and the kids played with Construx for a good part of the afternoon today. Those things are great--why aren't they made anymore? We got ours on Ebay for DB's birthday.
I got to sit with DB in the sun in front of the library, reading him books.
Cookie-Nut is sick with hand-foot-and-mouth AGAIN. So she's quarantined for the next few days--and we kind of are too. Argh. She had a really light case back in February...the rest of us should be immune. We can only hope. Poor DB, he's going to go batty, especially since there's no school because of the holiday.
PDaniel got fellowship funding for summer AND fall! We are saved!! He's the champion of funding!!!
The checkout man bought our celebratory ice-cream for me tonight. Nice. Two pints of Ben and Jerry's. Not sure why...he complimented me on my earrings too, asked me where I got them--I told them my husband bought them for me for Christmas. He was just being nice, right? Right?
Cookie-Nut was so disappointed that she couldn't actually hug the baby otters on ZooBorns she started to cry. I said, "Don't worry, I'll give you a hug!" This got a small smile, then, sadly, "Baby otter hug." I love how she's putting words together.
DB has requested that I sing the Darth Vader theme so often that CN knows it now, and hums it a lot. It's a little disconcerting to watchyour toddler sweetly cooking food in her toy kitchen while she's singing darkly, "Bom, bom, bom, bom-bombom, bom-bombom..."

I love these. So sorry about getting sick again.
So the store employee actually paid for your ice cream? Really? That is weird. You should pick his line more often I guess ;)
So cute, I love your kids, they are so funny. I can just imagine CN humming the song around the house!
