Fangbaby
Cookie-Nut will be eight months in a couple of days. Wow, this has gone so fast. I am just loving her baby-ness: her bright eyes, her chubby legs, her soft skin, her little pot belly in the bathtub. Her head on my shoulder when she's sleepy (Dangerboy hardly ever did that one). Babies are so fun.
So Cookie-Nut first got her bottom front teeth (normal). Then her top teeth came in--but not the front ones, the SIDE ones (not normal). It was too hard to photograph, so you'll just have to take my word for it. But hence, Fangbaby. A couple of weeks later one of her top front ones came in, so now she kind of looks like some kind of gaptooth hillbilly.
She is not quite crawling, but she reeeeally wants to. She does the whole rocking-on-all-fours thing, but just can't get her arms moving in the right direction. She's also working on getting from tummy to sitting and vice versa; sometimes she's successful, sometimes she faceplants, and sometimes she works herself into a perfect split, which is awesome but she still hasn't held it long enough for me to get a picture.
She loves pictures of family and babies, and has, in the past, waved and clapped her hands at them. She's lost interest in waving lately, but they still make her smile. She also loves her walker (dangerous, they say, but we don't have any stairs or steps, so oh well. There's hardly room enough for her to get around in it anyway). It's fun to see where she wants to go, now that she has a little mobility. DB went straight for the garbage and the vertical blinds; Cookie-Nut just likes to follow us around. She followed me to the shower room the other day, I could hear her running into the door; she followed DB into his bedroom today and was thrilled by it. Also, since the walker has a tray, we've been feeding her there; now that she eats table food she leaves a little trail of baby crackers and chopped up pears around the house. One more thing to clean! But she's worth it.
