Softer side of Dangerboy

So Dangerboy is thrilled to finally have his beloved Cookie-Nut home from the hospital. (He coined her nickname months ago and refuses to call her anything else; he even corrects us if we use her real name in front of him.) As soon as he saw her in the hospital, he wanted to take her home with him; his second idea was to make her a birthday cake, "a pink and orange princess cake," he said. So the next day, he and Grandma did just that.

He loves to hold her, kiss her, and play with her...though that infatuation may be giving way to the realization that he his not the center of the universe. He has been needy, and the baby coming coupled with P.'s long absence has left him pretty insecure. Luckily P. has the summer off and Grandma is here for the time being, so he's not been totally abandoned. It's just hard to explain to a three-year-old that things will get easier!
