Oh yeah, this doesn't make my all-time-favorites list either, but we liked it. Under the same Moon is about a Mexican boy who goes over the border searching for his mom, who is an illegal worker in the US. (It's basically An American Tail, live action, modernized, no production numbers). It's a tear jerker, and yes, the directors have obvious political views. Still, during once scene where cops raid a greenhouse full of migrant workers, it's hard not to ask yourself, "Wait, why are they arresting these people for picking tomatoes?" no matter where you stand.
