What the World Eats

This link should take you to an photo essay taken from the book Hungry Planet: What the World Eats by Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio. (My mom got the photos on e-mail). Each picture is of a family surrounded by the food they eat in one week; the amount of money they spend on the food is also listed. NPR has a blurb on it too--this one actually lists the food items for some of the families.

So interesting to see what people live on, what they like, and then look at the family from Chad and see what we actually need to survive...
